Pineapple Fritter Rings Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 can pineapple rings, drained
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1 large egg
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Pineapple:
- Drain the pineapple rings and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Make the Batter:
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon (if using).
- In another bowl, beat the egg, then add the milk and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until you have a smooth batter.
- Heat the Oil:
- Pour vegetable oil into a deep-frying pan or pot to a depth of about 1-2 inches. Heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the Pineapple Rings:
- Dip each pineapple ring into the batter, making sure it is well coated.
- Carefully place the battered rings into the hot oil. Fry in batches, avoiding overcrowding the pan.
- Fry each side for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Use tongs or a slotted spoon to turn the rings as they cook.
- Drain and Serve:
- Remove the fritter rings from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
- Dust the fritters with powdered sugar while still warm.
- Enjoy:
- Serve the pineapple fritter rings warm, either on their own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delightful treat.
Enjoy your homemade pineapple fritter rings!
