Lemonade Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 large oranges
  • 2 large lemons
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust according to taste)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Citrus:
    • Wash the oranges and lemons thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt or residue.
    • Roll the oranges and lemons on a cutting board using the palm of your hand. This helps to release the juices.
    • Cut each orange and lemon in half.
  2. Juice the Oranges and Lemons:
    • Using a citrus juicer or a reamer, juice the oranges and lemons into a large bowl or pitcher.
    • Strain the juice to remove any seeds or pulp if desired.
  3. Make Simple Syrup:
    • In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar with 1 cup of water.
    • Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar completely dissolves.
    • Remove from heat and let it cool.
  4. Mix the Orange Lemonade:
    • In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed orange and lemon juice.
    • Add the cooled simple syrup to the pitcher.
    • Stir well to combine.
  5. Adjust Taste:
    • Taste the orange lemonade and adjust the sweetness or tartness according to your preference. You can add more sugar or lemon juice as needed.
  6. Chill and Serve:
    • Refrigerate the orange lemonade for at least 30 minutes to chill it thoroughly.
    • Before serving, add 4 cups of cold water to the pitcher and stir well.
    • Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the orange lemonade over the ice.
    • Garnish with fresh mint leaves for an extra refreshing touch if desired.
  7. Enjoy:
    • Serve the homemade orange lemonade immediately and enjoy its refreshing citrus flavor!
