Ingredients:
- 3 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (optional, for rolling)
Instructions:
- Melt Ingredients: In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter, chocolate chips, and peanut butter together. Stir constantly until smooth.
- Add Vanilla: Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Mix with Cereal: Add the Rice Krispies cereal to the melted mixture. Stir until the cereal is well-coated.
- Form Balls: Allow the mixture to cool slightly. Once it’s cool enough to handle, use your hands to form small balls (about 1 inch in diameter). If the mixture is too sticky, you can refrigerate it for a few minutes to make it easier to handle.
- Optional – Roll in Powdered Sugar: Roll the balls in powdered sugar if desired.
- Chill: Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes, or until firm.
- Serve: Enjoy your Chocolate Rice Krispie Balls! Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Tips:
- If you prefer, you can use white chocolate or milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Adding some mini marshmallows to the mixture can give an extra chewy texture.
- For a nut-free version, you can replace peanut butter with sunflower seed butter or another nut-free spread.
Enjoy making and eating these delightful treats!
