Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 2-3 large lemons)
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes (optional)
  • Lemon slices for garnish (optional)
  • Blueberries for garnish (optional)
  • Mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

Make the Blueberry Syrup:

  • In a small saucepan, combine the blueberries, 1/4 cup of water, and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the blueberries break down and the sugar is dissolved (about 5-7 minutes).
  • Use a spoon or potato masher to gently mash the blueberries as they cook.
  • Once the mixture thickens slightly, remove it from the heat and let it cool. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve to remove the blueberry skins and seeds. Set the syrup aside.

Juice the Lemons:

Squeeze the juice from the lemons and strain it to remove any seeds or pulp if desired.

Mix the Lemonade:

In a large pitcher, combine the blueberry syrup, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and 4 cups of cold water. Stir well to combine.
Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar if necessary

Chill:

Refrigerate the blueberry lemonade for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Serve:

Fill glasses with ice cubes (if using), and pour the chilled blueberry lemonade over the ice.
Garnish with lemon slices, fresh blueberries, and mint leaves if desired.

Enjoy!

This blueberry lemonade is a vibrant, tangy-sweet drink that’s perfect for summer days or any time you want a refreshing treat.
